SO this week i am doing my presentation for the class and i have been looking alot and sexism and racism in the current race for president. I found alot of articles that said the same thing, it was either "Hilliary, stop running for president and make me a sandwich" or "I don't like Obama cause he's black". and i cant help but think that some people are so damn ignorant.

i found this article on CNN.com called "Some voter's say sexism less Offensive than Racism" and couldn't help but read it. The article describes the overt sexism Hilliary was facing while running for the democratic spot. People would scream "IRON MY SHIRT!" at rallies. There were also Hilary Clinton themed cleaning supplies that were marked as "First cleaning lady" just showing how ignorant people can be because she is a woman. IF she were to show any sensitive emotion such as crying towards these disrespectful items and remarks she would be seen as weak and unable to run a country. While racism is also a large issue is the race for president. Obama has been seen as a fundamentalist Muslim because his middle name is Hussein, although he is christian. Yet as the article points out, it is easier to be sexist towards Hilary then Racist towards Obama because "Gender is the most restricting force in america".

I then watched Donny Deutsch comment on Sarah Palin and how men "Want to lay in bed with her". He was praising her for wearing skirts, commenting that Hilary Clinton got it wrong by not playing up there sex appeal. clearly this guy is an ignorant douche bag. He has Palin on his show and is saying these blatantly sexual remarks towards her, what the hell was he thinking? This race has become a battle of the sex's now that McCain and Palin are running together. Sexist remarks are flying off the shelves like a blue light special at K-Mart and its ridiculous because people think they can get away with them and shake it off like its nothing. I find it repulsive that people can just go on saying Sarah Palin is "hott" or "Sexy". She should be seen as a revered candidate in an incredibly impotent presidential race though could change America as we know it...not a sex symbol.

Reproductive Rights
I have been thinking this past week alot about the right that women have to choose. Either be pro-life or pro-choice. Personally i am strongly pro-choice, but i do not argue with people who are pro-life. I like to see both side of peoples views, but they wont change mine.
I know many people argue that abortion is murder, and that is a hard subject to handle. But at the same time if someone has never been put in the situation, they would just never understand how hard of a choice it truly is. Adoption is also a great option. My Brother was adopted into my family before i was born and he is the closest to me out of all of my siblings.

i found this article, telling how abortion has now been pushed into the political race and has become a hot topic. I agree that abortion and a women's right to choose is a huuuge issue in the political race, the views of the candidates about this issue was one of my first deciding factors of who i wanted to vote for. The one things that always bothers me though when talking about Sarah Palin is how people seem to make her a "saint" because she did not abort her baby even after finding out it would have Down Syndrome. good for her she chose to keep her baby, but i personally saw this as a way of her to be a more likable person in a political sense. So what if her child has a disability? should we really praise her for not getting rid of him.
It also bothered me that Palin did not agree with abortion even in the case of Rape or Incest. those are two things i believe abortion should be an option in.

I am also strongly believe that the government should not decide if a women should be aloud to have an abortion or not. It is a women's choice, not the governments. Yes, they should get rid of dirty back ally abortion clinics and make sure they are clean and safe so women are not hurt and mangled after the surgery. But a womens choice and the right to privacy is a most.
Let me explaine what Roe v. Wade is, so you can better understand the last article i posted.
Roe v. Wade was a decision made by the supream court that legalized abortion. Laws against abortion in the states vilated the right to privacy under the due process cause. Thus Roe yv. Wade says a mother can have her fetus aborted is the fetus is not visable, aka can not live outside of hte mothers body.
i know this is kind of a rough post, and i hope i dont get bashed for my beliefs this week.

So i have come to the conclusion i have no idea what to write about.
so my post is probably going to be horrible, but here it goes.
I found myself thinking this past week about why the term "gay" and "faggot" are used so often as derogatory terms. Since when has it been is bad to express your sexuality and why is it so terrible in our society to be homosexual? why is it such a taboo?
I then began to look at how some religious groups are against Homosexuality.
i decided to Google "Against Homosexuality" and was not surprised to find a numerous amount of hate web pages. The one i found to be the most "interesting" is called "AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY" it goes into explaining how it is a sin to be homosexual and the wrath of God shall smite you and all the bull crap.

One article i found rather disturbing is called "ARE YOU DEMON-POSSESSED?" it begins "Are you a homosexual or gay male who feel you are a female with a Male's body? Or are you a homosexual or gay female who feel you are a male with a female's body? Its time you are told the truth about what is happening to you." The writer goes into explaining how these are terribly abnormal feelings, and you are morally sick and depraved if you feel this way. This is where I got angry. Who the hell is this guy to say what is right and wrong? I understand that some people see homosexuality as a sin, but this is an extremist’s point of view. I try to be open to others opinions on life, but this guy was a total jackass and bigot. Take what you want from this article, but I found it to be hateful and cruel.

The second Article i found on Google is called "Arguing Against Homosexuality"
This article uses biblical references to support their opinion that homosexuality is a sin. "The Biblical witness is clearly against the practice of homosexuality. God did not intend for male and male, or female and female to have sexual relations. As the popular saying goes, "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!" The OT clearly condemns homosexuality. The Law of Moses said, "You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination" I understand that many people use the bible as a hard reference, but how can you? we are not even sure who wrote many of the books and some books have been revised many times.
i don't know what I'm trying to say with this post exactly, other than some religious groups use the bible to back up their belief that homosexuality is wrong i believe that they are wrong for doing that.
